Role Description: The Treatment Coordinator supports patients through their surgical care journey.
Responsibilities include
- reviewing proposed treatment plans
- ensuring patients understand clinical recommendations and next steps
- discussing financial arrangements & confirming insurance benefits
- scheduling procedures
- helping patients prepare for procedures and navigate the recovery phase
- maintaining accurate patient records
- communicating with the clinical team about treatment timelines
- following up with patients to support case acceptance and continuity of care
- ensuring the necessary surgical materials are available and organized for procedures
- answering patient inquiries promptly and politely in person and by email/phone
- contributing to a smooth, organized front-office workflow
Qualifications
- Understanding of dental surgery procedures(gum/bone grafting, implant placement, debridement, etc,);, treatment timelines, and post-op care requirements.
- Knowledge of insurance processes, including verification of benefits, pre-authorizations, claims coordination; confidence in discussing financial responsibilities with patients.
- Proven customer service capabilities, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and a patient-focused approach in a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication skills, including transparent verbal and written communication and the ability to collaborate effectively with dentists, specialists, and support staff.
- Prior experience in a dental office, preferably in oral surgery or periodontics.
- Current LDA (CDA) status with BCCOHP is an asset.
- Proficiency with practice management software (ClearDent), basic office computer skills, and capturing digital diagnostic records.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases and appointments in a fast-paced environment.
