We are seeking a skilled and dedicated (310T)Truck Mechanic or 310J (Trailer Mechanic) to join our family business located in Brownsville (SW ONT) which is over 30 years old. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, particularly with trailers & trucks and related equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently.
The 310T/310J Mechanic will work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical issues and safety concerns.
- Perform repairs and safety on components, including brakes, axles, lights, and suspension systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot problems effectively.
- Operate heavy machinery such as cranes and forklifts when necessary for repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and team members to ensure timely completion of repair work.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
Skills
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment relevant to trailer mechanics.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience with heavy lifting techniques and physical stamina to handle demanding tasks.
- Welding skills are a plus for performing structural repairs on trailers.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities combined with attention to detail.
- Solid communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
