Job Summary The successful candidate will provide academic and developmental support while helping create a positive, structured, and encouraging workplace for the children they work with.

Responsibilities

- Provide one-on-one tutoring and educational support

- Work directly with autistic children and youth

- Assist children with learning, communication, organization, and daily routines as needed

- Coordinate with teachers, case workers, families, and other members of the child’s support team

- Follow individualized learning or support plans

- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social skills

- Maintain a calm, patient, and supportive approach

- Communicate progress, concerns, and relevant information with the appropriate team members

Qualifications





- Experience working with autistic children or children with additional support needs is strongly preferred

- Previous tutoring, educational assistant, childcare, behavioural support, or youth work experience is an asset

- Patient, dependable, organized, and comfortable working with children

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and case workers

- Valid Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check required

- First Aid certification with a focus on children/pediatric First Aid preferred

- Relevant education or training in childcare, education, social services, behavioral intervention, or a related field is an asset.

Pay: $18.45-$25.00 per hour
