Join M'Chigeeng First Nation as a full time specialist in supporting youth mental health and addictions. This role focuses on trauma-informed care strategies and traditional healing practices. As a Child and Youth Mental Health & Addictions Counsellor, you will be instrumental in providing emotional support and intervention for children facing mental health challenges.
Work collaboratively to assess needs and develop effective treatment plans while providing counseling in a compassionate manner. The role also involves various community wellness initiatives that incorporate both traditional and contemporary methods. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess children's mental health through a trauma-informed lens
- Develop effective counseling plans and deliver direct services
- Maintain case management using electronic records
- Lead workshops addressing mental health topics
- Facilitate community support and prevention activities Requirements:
- Diploma in Social Services or a related discipline
- 3–5 years experience in child and youth mental health
- Knowledge in mental health and addictions prevention
- Required First Aid and CPR certifications
- Understanding of Anishinaabe culture and heritage Contribute to the mental wellness of the youth community with your expertise at M'Chigeeng First Nation.
