We are seeking a highly motivated and friendly BC- certified Early Childhood Educator to join our team for a 12-month maternity starting August 31st, 2026.
Quick Summary of Position:
- Employment Term: 12-month maternity leave contract
- Age Group: Infants and Toddlers (primarily)
- Shifts: 8 hours + 30-minute break per day, scheduled between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM
- Shift Flexibility: Ability to adjust shift times occasionally, as required.

The RJDS Early Learning Centre is a non-profit child care facility in beautiful Richmond, B.C. We are a close-knit group of educators and staff with values of collaboration, inclusion, and respect, and we are part of the well-established K-7 Richmond Jewish Day School. Guided by the BC Early Learning Framework and the ECEBC Code of Ethics, we follow a play-based philosophy with an emergent/responsive curriculum based on the children’s interests and play behaviours, while incorporating elements of Jewish traditions and culture into the environment. Most importantly, we value relationships, strong communication, and children’s rights.
What we offer:
- Competitive salary-based compensation package with consistent semi-monthly payments - starting wage ranges between $21 and $25/hr PLUS $6 wage enhancement. Wages are dependent on education and experience.

Qualifications Required
Education and Certification:
- Hold a valid ECE Certificate issued by B.C.’s Early Childhood Educator Registry ; Infant/Toddler certification is an asset
- Minimum 3 – 6 months of recent related experience in group child care providing similar services to children and families (must be able to provide a minimum of 2 character references)
- Hold a valid First Aid and CPR certificate meeting Schedule C requirements of the CCLR
- Knowledge of the BC Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR)
- A strong understanding of emergent curriculum, play-based learning, the BC Early Learning Framework, and/or Reggio Emilia-inspired practice
- Applicants do not need to be Jewish but should demonstrate respect for—and/or willingness to learn about—Jewish values, traditions, and history

- Work collaboratively with a team of Educators, provide quality care, responsive programming and a safe and nurturing environment for children
- Uphold RJDS Early Learning Centre values in the child care environment and programming
- Establish and maintain positive daily communication and interactions with families and co-workers.
- Respecfully attend to children’s physical and emotional needs
- Light housekeeping duties
- Maintain the RJDS Early Learning Centre's policies and procedures, as well as the BC Child Care Regulations in accordance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act
- Follow individual care plans and maintain collaborative relationships with other community service providers
