This is a position that treats youth affected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The incumbent provides supervision to students in formal clinical practicums. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience 1 yr recent exp. in a community MH setting working w/ children, youth & families Min 1 yr postgrad recognized clinical exp in community mental health setting Education Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Knowledge and Abilities Highly developed written and oral communication skills Knowledge of the diversity of cultures,



values and traditions Ability to design, initiate and conduct training for other professionals Ability to formulate evidence-based intervention based on clinical presentation Knowledge of assessment, triage, treatment and case management.

Ability to provide public education regarding children/youth mental health issues Ability to manage a high demand caseload and other work assignments. Can function independently & as member of interdisciplinary mental health team Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation Ability to identify, implement & evaluate areas of client difficulty Broad knowledge of mental health community resources.

Ability to document in a concise and timely manner Knowledge of normal child & adolescent development & psychopathology Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems Other Information Can work flexible schedule; ability to work shifts based on operational needs.

Requires a valid driver’s license. May require access to a vehicle for work. Must have current practicing registration with SASW.
