Safety/Emergency/Accessibility (SEA) CoordinatorEmployer:RM of GreyLocation:Elm CreekApplication Deadline:TBDJob Description:The Rural Municipality of Grey invites applications for a Safety/Emergency/Accessibility (SEA) Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:Safety CoordinatorMaintain and update the Safety and Health PolicyProvide leadership and strategic direction on the Safety and Health programContinuously improve Safety and Health Program elements including safety training and orientation, protected work procedures, hazard analysis and regular inspectionsEnsuring compliance with incident reporting, policy creation, enforcement and legislative requirements and communicationsCollaborating with management and staff to adhere to our Safety and Health program and policiesProvide guidance and ownership of processes for the Safety CommitteeKnowledge of the Safety and Health Act, Provincial Regulations and Workers Compensation Board programs would be an assetPreparation, maintenance, and testing of the regional Emergency PlanCoordinating the response to emergencies in the regionDuring emergencies the Municipal Emergency Coordinator is required to be available for full workdays, including overtime,



for as long as is requiredAccessibility CoordinatorOversee the Accessibility Plan and coordinate accessibilityCoordinate the accessibility workingProvide expertise to colleagues and clients to ensureInclude accessibility awareness in staff training andMonitor progress in implementing the Accessibility Plan and track costs related to disability accommodations.When new policies or programs are introduced, consider accessibility needs and provide advice on removing barriers.Stay up to date on compliance requirements for new standards under the AMA as well as new technology and resources to help the organization maximize accessibilityFor all three aspects of the job, the successful candidate must:Strong and effective communication in English, both written and verbal, is a requirement for this role. French proficiency would be anBe able to work with minimum supervisionHave excellent organizational and record keeping skillsHave a clear and valid driver’s licenseHave access to a personal vehicle when a municipal vehicle is unavailableHave computer experience especially Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Be willing to participate in courses/training for all three areas of the positionThis position is unionized. Base working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunchbreak. Wage starts at $26.58/hr.
