OverviewSt. Marys Cement, part of Votorantim Cimentos North America (VCNA), seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead reliability and maintenance activities at our St. Marys, Ontario plant.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDrive reliability improvements in the plant to achieve world‑class MTBF results.Direct, supervise, and assign duties to the Predictive Maintenance Supervisor and Selective Inspection Technician; participate in the rotating on‑call list shared with other salary maintenance positions.Update existing plant maintenance and preventative maintenance systems; troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to determine root cause(s) and develop corrective action plans to improve reliability.Create weekly and monthly plant equipment condition status reports.Evaluate cost‑reduction opportunities.Conduct technical reviews of vendors and contractors to ensure they can provide required equipment, machinery, and services.Ensure the safety of subordinates by enforcing protected work practices, providing motivation, and effective communication.Lead the continuous improvement of all operating equipment conditions.Manage the short, medium, and long‑term treatment of equipment recognized as critical.Participate in and promote maintenance cost‑saving initiatives to improve maintenance spend and budget development.Supervise and direct maintenance contractors working on the plant site as required; manage contractortime and ensure quality work through field verification.Participate in scheduled maintenance meetings and initiatives; work toward continuous improvement of maintenance KPIs.Provide detailed feedback on equipment condition and reliability improvements.Ensure all technical training and development requirements are met for subordinates; administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement (if applicable)
and disciplinary actions as required.Conduct toolbox/tailgate safety talks; manage vacation schedules with plant management approval.Ensure technical specifications and special instructions are available and understood by craftsmen for assigned jobs.Participate in daily and weekly planning meetings; provide input to the Maintenance Planner to set job priorities.Assist operation groups with technical support; maintain accountabilityof company‑owned tools.Authority / Decision MakingThe role operates with a reasonable degree of autonomy while requiring regular engagement with plant operations to achieve plant outcomes. professional journals, technical procedures, and regulations. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
