OverviewThe salary range for this position is CAD $31.64/Hr. The Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker will join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) on the Tertiary Mental Health team at Joseph & Rosalie Segal Family Care Centre. This is a full-time and part-time opportunity on the 4th floor. The goal is to support individuals in returning to the community by increasing functional skills, coping strategies, and social connections within a client- and family-centred recovery model.ResponsibilitiesWork as a member of an interdisciplinary tertiary mental health team to provide comprehensive psychosocial rehabilitation services within a recovery framework.Support individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses who require resources beyond secondary mental health services due to symptom complexity.Provide day-to-day physical, emotional, and social supports, advocacy, life skills assistance, and access to resources.Collaborate with the team to develop individualized rehabilitative treatment plans and contribute to client evaluations.Observe and monitor progress, symptoms, and behavioral changes; report significant observations.Establish, maintain, and enhance therapeutic relationships with respect; promote client independence and support activities of daily living (personal care, meal planning, community appointments, etc.).Help maintain a secure environment for clients and the team; participate in team meetings, planning, and quality improvement activities; keep current knowledge up to date.Education And ExperienceGrade 12, Social Services Diploma, or Certificate from a recognized Health Care Worker program (e.G., Health Care Support Worker Certificate, Certificate in Community Mental Health, Human Service Worker Certificate, Addictions Worker Certificate) plus two (2)
years of experience in a psychiatric setting with individuals who have complex mental health and addictions issues, or other reasonable and relevant qualifications.Successful candidates may be required to complete a Food Safe certification course if applicable during orientation/qualifying period.Skills And AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to interact productively with others.Physical ability to perform duties of the position.Ability to organize the work and operate related equipment.Other DetailsThe hours of work, days off, and work area may change per operational requirements and the applicable collective agreement and statutes.
