This is a unique opportunity for a strong finance person to be a key player in the financial operations of Wolseley Canada.Success in this role will require a self-starter, with a strong analytical mindset, who is keen to understand the financial results and operating activities of the business.The Accounting Manager will supervise a team and is responsible for managing and building the team to deliver on all key responsibilities.What You Will DoOversight of part of the Business unit accounting function, leading the team to deliver on key operational metricsEnsure financial close is timely, accurate and questions from management and business are answeredProcess and review of journal entries, adjustments,



and accruals while also overseeing the closing of the General Ledger (G/L)Review balance sheet account reconciliationsEnsure closing entries are reviewed and booked at the Corporate and Business Unit levelsReconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account informationWork with Financial Reporting to ensure that period-end reporting is accurate and completeLead the development, maintenance, and communication of policies and proceduresProvide recommendations to Finance leaders on procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulationsInitiate and introduce process improvements by researching new offerings in the market and best practicesConduct performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports on a regular basisMentor and coach team members on developmental areas, providing opportunities for continuous improvement, to grow and stretch individual capabilities and build a high performing teamHire, train and on-board new team membersEnable improvement in employee engagement through regular touchpoints, team building and timely recognitionServe as point of contact and liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with group policy and US GAAPMaintain and strengthen the internal control environment, ensuring all internal controls are maintained as per Group requirements.What You Will BringCPA Designation (preferred)Minimum of 5 – 8 years’ experience in accountingStrategic thinking and insight, ability and initiative to identify key projects and executeStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsContinuous improvement mindset and superior organizational skillsAdvanced Excel and experience working on integrated ERP softwareThis position requires the result of a satisfactory criminal record check.
