We are currently seeking an experiencedClaims Managerto join our Edmonton-based Claims team. Reporting to the Director, Claims, this leadership role is responsible for guiding a high-performing team of Property Claims Advisors supporting Western Canada and the Northern Territories.This individual will play a key role in shaping departmental direction, strengthening broker and partner relationships, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality claims experience aligned with organizational standards and service commitments.What You’ll DoProvide strong, supportive leadership to a team of Property Claims Advisors handling claims across Western Canada and the Northern TerritoriesOversee day-to-day management of a claims team, ensuring effective workload distribution, coaching, and performance managementFoster a culture of learning, collaboration, accountability, and open communicationEnsure all claims handling practices comply with internal standards, policy wordings, contractual obligations, and applicable regulationsProvide ongoing mentorship, technical guidance, and structured development opportunities for team membersMonitor service standards and ensure consistent delivery aligned with organizational values and customer expectationsAct as a key escalation point for complex files, including large losses, CAT events, and reserve reviewsConduct file audits and quality reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and best practice adherenceBuild and maintain strong relationships with brokers, independent adjusters, vendors,
and other external partnersRespond to escalated inquiries and support resolution of claims‑related issues with professionalism and tactDevelop reporting and analytics to support decision‑making and provide insights to senior leadershipContribute to budgeting, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Claims departmentWhat You’ll Bring10+ years of experience in the insurance industry, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacityStrong background in property claims (personal and/or commercial lines)Proven experience coaching, mentoring, and developing high‑performing teamsDeep understanding of policy wordings, claims practices, and relevant provincial legislationCIP or FCIP designation (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Solid analytical and decision‑making abilities with a solutions‑focused mindsetExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence and present to varied audiencesDemonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholdersStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environmentCommitment to continuous improvement and elevating claims service deliveryInformationCity: EdmontonJob Type: Full‑TimeEducation: CIP, FCIP, FCIP - Partial Completion, Secondary School Diploma, University DegreeExpertise: Claims Examining, Claims - Property, Claims AdjustingMinimum experience required: 11 or more YearsSalary (annually): from $100,000 to $120,000#J-18808-Ljbffr
