Enterprise Risk Management LeadJob Number: 55183As the Enterprise Risk Management Lead and agent of change, you will design and drive the systems that translate City Council’s vision into measurable action by identifying and mitigating corporate risks. You will serve as an expert advisor to the Executive Leadership Team, integrating enterprise risk management into the corporation’s strategic management system to improve strategic and corporate decision‑making.What will you do?Lead corporate systems for enterprise risk management to ensure City services and initiatives address Council’s strategic prioritiesDrive enterprise‑wide adoption of risk management tools, reporting and decision‑making processesDirect reporting on strategic and organizational risks to senior leadership and CouncilCollaborate with peers, teams and senior leaders to identify and define corporate and strategic risksDesign and deliver learning resources, including workshops, manuals, and dashboards, to embed risk management practices across the organizationMonitor and assess organizational maturity and use it to inform implementation, learning and change management initiativesDevelop evidence‑based tools, resources and processes using best practice research, jurisdictional scans and current‑state analysis tailored to the City’s maturityIntegrate enterprise risk management into the City’s strategic management framework, ensuring functional links between foresight, business planning,



policy and strategy development and performance reportingManage stakeholder partnerships with Department and Branch leadership to build capacity for using risk management information to inform decision‑makingQualificationsA University Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science or other related studiesMinimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in a combination of strategic/operational risk management, business planning, performance management, strategy or policy development and leadership and project management experienceAssetAn MBA or other Masters Degree in a related field would be considered an assetCertified Risk Management Qualified (CRMP) designationCertification or coursework/training in strategic planning; financial management; public administration; project management; performance measures and analytics; change management;or other leadership training would be an assetSkills required for successExtensive knowledge of enterprise risk management, strategic planning approaches, best practices and applicationsSystem‑level experience designing scalable solutions that account for varying levels of strategic maturity and capacity across an organizationExperience with process analysis,



development and improvementDemonstrated leadership and team building skillsCritical thinking skills and an ability to challenge existing processesAbility to analyze complex technical information and make timely decisionsProven planning and organizational skills to manage program/project deliveryDemonstrated expertise in facilitation of groups with competing interests and prioritiesStrong conflict resolution and negotiation skills with experience in solving complex and sensitive issuesThorough understanding of strategic planning, municipal governance and executive decision‑makingStrong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact well with a diverse group of executives, colleagues, staff and citizensStrong written communication and presentation skills, including report writingDemonstrated ability and willingness to develop strong relationships and work in a collaborative, integrated mannerAlignment to our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies (https://bit.Ly/4brRrXm)Embracing a culture of equity, diversity, reconciliation and inclusionWork EnvironmentThe weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time.
