Position SummaryReporting to the Director, Strategic Planning, Analytics and Reporting (SPAR), the Government and Institutional Reporting Analyst coordinates, validates, submits and documents government and institutional reporting required to support Lethbridge Polytechnic’s accountability, compliance, and official reporting obligations.Key ResponsibilitiesReporting and Data Management:Lead the preparation, validation, and submission of government and institutional reports; develop and produce recurring operational and institutional reporting; extract, compile,and reconcile data from multiple systems and sources; ensure reporting outputs align with approved definitions, standards, and methodologies; maintain reporting schedules, audit trails, and version control practices.Analytical and Problem‑Solving Skills:Perform detailed data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance checks; identify and investigate discrepancies, anomalies, and data integrity issues; interpret reporting requirements and apply analytical judgment; identify recurring dataquality issues and recommend improvements; ensure consistentapplication of business rules and reporting logic.Compliance and Governance:Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements and institutional policies; maintain reporting records in alignment with privacy, confidentiality, and records management standards; apply and supportreporting governance practices, controls, and documentation standards; monitor changes in reporting requirements and implement necessary updates.Communication and Collaboration:Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather, verify, and validate reporting data; communicate reporting requirements, timelines,



and definitions clearly to partners; liaise with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure data accuracy; build strong working relationships to support cross‑functional reporting processes; coordinate reporting inputs and activities across departments.Decision Making:Establish workplans, timelines, validation procedures, and documentation practices for assigned reporting cycles; prioritize daily reporting work to meet multiple deadlines across the annual reporting cycle; create templates,validation tools, and workflow approaches that improve continuity and reduce reliance on undocumented knowledge.Required QualificationsEducationMinimum of a bachelor’s degree in statistics, social sciences, business, public administration, information management, education or other related discipline.ExperienceMinimum of three to five years of progressively responsible experience in institutional and/or governmental reporting, data analysis, research, planning or a related analytical environment.Experience working with complex data sets, multiple source systems and formal reporting requirements.Experience with government or ministry reporting processes, documentation standards and quality assurance practices would be strongly preferred.CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and analytical and problem‑solving skills.Advanced skills in data extraction, manipulation, validation, and reporting using spreadsheets,



databases and reporting tools.Demonstrated ability to work with institutional data and produce accurate reporting outputs.Manage multiple priorities and deadlines across cyclical reporting requirements.Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain technical information clearly to non‑technical audiences.Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal partners and follow through on shared reporting responsibilities.Knowledge of privacy, confidentiality, records management and data governance as they relate to institutional reporting.Sound judgment, discretion and professionalism.Support the continuous improvement of institutional reporting through strong validation documentation, standardization and process design.Preferred QualificationsTraining in institutional research, data analytics, records management, information governance or business intelligence would be an asset.Experience in the post‑secondary or public sector or another complex reporting environment is preferred.An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.Working knowledge of reporting and analytical tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI or similar systems.SalaryStarting at $78,952 to $92,885 per annum; commensurate witheducation and experience.Employment EquityLethbridge Polytechnic is committed to inclusive recruitment practices by providing reasonable access and accommodations to applicants.
