[email protected] | Telephone: 514‑206‑9802The RoleWe are looking for a Business Service Officer (BSO) to support the business development activities of the Automotive and Surface Transportation Research Centre. The successful candidate will share the core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.ResponsibilitiesWork on opportunities for client projects delegated by the Business Development team, focusing on manufacturing opportunities.Develop statements of work by liaising directly with clients and connecting them to the appropriate researcher(s). This includes identifying the appropriate researcher, reviewing proposals, ensuring they meet client needs, reviewing project costing,
determining price and negotiating contract terms.Prepare contracts with contract specialists based on standard agreement templates.Update opportunities in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.Support the Director of Business Development with reporting, including bi‑weekly updates to the Management Team and monthly reports to the Vice‑President on new opportunities and bookings.Maintain and update the research centre’s Funnel and Bookings Dashboard in Power BI and run ad‑hoc reports in the CRM.Provide additional support such as collateral development and conference preparation.Screening CriteriaEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field. Equivalent combinations of experience, training and education are considered.Experience:Significant experience in sales, client service or customer support in a technology environment.Significant experience drafting business proposals.Significant experience reviewing contracts.Experience establishing collaborative working relationships with colleagues and clients.Experience working with a Customer Relationship Management System (CRM). Significant experience is defined as a minimum of four (4)
