Our mandate is to provide accessible, high-quality, culturally protected care while strengthening Indigenous community health capacity.Position SummaryThe Minomode-Zewin Nundge-Gehwin Assistant supports the Indigenous Food Sovereignty Coordinator and Dietitian in the delivery of day-to-day activities related to SOAHAC’s food insecurity programming. This role helps ensure the effective coordination and operation of program activities that support access to healthy food, community wellness, and culturally grounded food systems work.The Assistant will provide hands‑on support for program planning and implementation, farm box and food hub distribution, community meals, community garden and greenhouse activities, and other related food distribution initiatives. This position is based at SOAHAC’s London site and does not require travel.The position reports to the Integrated Care Manager,



London site.ResponsibilitiesProgram SupportSupport the Indigenous Food Sovereignty Coordinator and Dietitian in carrying out day-to-day program activitiesAssist with planning, preparing, organizing, and implementing food insecurity program initiativesHelp maintain program supplies, materials, and food distribution logisticsSupport general administrative and operational tasks related to the programFood Distribution & Community ProgrammingAssist with farm box and food hub distribution activitiesSupport the coordination and delivery of community mealsAssist with ordering, preparation, and distribution of program‑related food items and bagsSupport community garden and greenhouse activities, as requiredClient and Community SupportProvide welcoming, respectful, and culturally safe support to community members participating in programmingAssist with set‑up, take‑down, and organization for program activities and eventsHelp ensure program spaces are clean, organized, and ready for useWork collaboratively with team members to support smooth and responsive service deliveryDocumentation and Team CollaborationAssist with basic record‑keeping, inventory tracking, and program documentation as neededCommunicate effectively with team members regarding schedules, supplies, and program needsParticipate in team meetings and other organizational activities as requiredQualifications & ExperienceDiploma or certificate in a related field,



or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience supporting community‑based programs, food programs, health promotion, or related initiativesDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentStrong organizational skills and ability to manage routine program tasksAbility to perform physical duties associated with food program support, including lifting, carrying, set‑up, and distribution activitiesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with Indigenous individuals, families, and communitiesKnowledge of Indigenous food sovereignty, community wellness, and culturally grounded approaches is an assetExperience supporting community meals, gardens, food distribution, or similar programming is an assetKnowledge of growing, cooking traditional Indigenous foods would be an assetA satisfactory police check will be required as a condition of employmentUp‑to‑date immunizations in compliance with SOAHAC requirementsThis position may include additional responsibilities as required to support organizational priorities.SOAHAC values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer.
