Providing excellent client-centered care, you are confident, thoughtful, and motivated to achieve success when supporting others in your community.One position has a weekly full time (overnight) schedule of (8pm -8am) 4 on - 4 off rotation at PCC.OverviewMistahimaskwa House:This program is for youth 12-19 who have been exposed to substance, physical and mental abuse, sexual exploitation, physical/mental trauma and who also have severe complex mental health needs. Mistahimaskwa/PCC is a program designed to help youth with their mental health needs in a residential setting with extra supports such as; higher ratios of staff and in collaboration with supports from Alberta Health Services who are on site daily. These are youth who currently cannot be supported in other residential setting. With the support from both CSS and AHS, we work clients using harm reduction principles and practices to which promote empowerment and stabilization.Job SummaryReporting to the Team Leader, the Front Line Leader oversees the operations of the program in the absence of the Team Leader, generally outside of regular business hours. The Front-Line Leader also ensures the children and youth clients while located at the program facility experience a safe, warm, and positive environment where their basic needs are met (food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, and safety). Additionally, the Front-Line Leader assists with training, supervising, and evaluating employees who provide direct services to clients with humility, compassion, and respect. This position also represents the Agency within the community and liaises with community partners.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Employee ManagementUnderstands, supports, promotes, and adheres to the Agency’s vision, mission, values, and organizational ethics, and treats all persons with humility, compassion, and respectPresents as a positive and professional role model and ambassador for the Agency in interactions with clients, stakeholders, and the public. Maintains respectful personal boundariesCommunicates effectively and respectfully in a professional and confidential manner with all Agency employees, and internal and external stakeholdersEstablishes and maintains respectful, cooperative working relationships with employees and key stakeholdersAssists with day-to-day operations and programming of the programAssists with on-site orientation, training, and performance monitoring of program personnel, including part-time, contractual, overnight, weekend, volunteer, student, and casual workersParticipates in the orientation of new employeesAssists in preparing shift schedules for relief and additional shifts to ensure appropriate employee/shift coverageMonitors, supervises, and reports to the Team Leader the performance of the program personnel assignedMonitors and records in-service training and development of program personnelPresents in-service training and attends committees and meetings deemed necessary or appropriate by the Team Leader/Program ManagerFacilitates team communication and ensures the team is involved in decision-making processes as applicableMonitors assigned core team responsibilities (e.G. petty cash, stationery purchases, food purchases, incentives, medication orders, recreation activities, camera booking, and maintenance, file audits)Assists in the collection, checking/approval, and submission of time sheets and Leave of Absence (LOA)



requests received from program employeesPrepares fire drills, occupancy, and other reports required by the programEnsures serious occurrence reports are properly documented and submitted in a timely manner to the immediate supervisor or designateProgram Planning/AdministrationProvides on-site support to the clients on an individual, family, and group basisPrepares for, attends, and participates in committees and service meetings.Completes and submits monthly documentation as per standard procedures on or before assigned due dates, such as employee timesheets, month-end progress reports, case notes, mileage, cheque requisitions, etc.Attends and actively participates in scheduled team meetings. Supports team initiatives and helps to identify problems and suggest solutionsRegularly updates the Team Leader/Program Manager on program activities and developmentsClient Care/ServiceCommunicates effectively and respectfully in a professional manner with clients, both verbally and in writing. Actively listens to clients to understand their needs while being aware of and responding to non-verbal communication.Identifies and provides the community resources required to support clients according to the risk assessmentEnsures that appropriate client care is implemented and provided by our employeesAttends Service Team Meetings and Conflict Resolution Meetings as neededAssists in maintaining building and equipment according to Agency standardsSubmits request for equipment purchase as requiredPerforms other related duties as requiredWhat This Job RequiresMinimum of a Diploma in a Human Services discipline or equivalentA degree in a Human Services discipline is an assetAdditional relevant certifications or designations considered an assetMinimum of three (3) years of professional experience with family violence, addictions, and high-risk behaviorsMinimum of one (1) year of professional supervisory experience preferredEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be consideredThe ideal candidate will have an organized and compassionate approach to the work, strong teamwork skills, a commitment to developing positive supporting relationships, and experience supporting families.
