We are grateful to work on this land.PositionMANAGER, ADVERTISING & PROMOTION SALESReporting to the Senior Manager, Market Sales, the Manager, Advertising & Promotions leads the strategy, development, and execution of high-impact advertising and promotional campaigns for TIFF: The Market. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key client relationships, and delivering best-in-class brand activations across festival venues, including the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) and TIFF Lightbox.The Manager plays a critical role in shaping the commercial advertising offering, building strategic partnerships, and achieving an annual revenue target of approximately $700,000. Working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and production teams, this role ensures seamless campaign execution while enhancing the overall partner experience.ResponsibilitiesAdvertising & Promotions Strategy & ExecutionLead the development and execution of integrated advertising and promotional strategies aligned with Market objectivesDesign innovative, customized activation concepts that deliver measurable value for partnersOversee end-to-end execution of campaigns,



ensuring alignment with brand standards and operational excellenceIdentify new advertising inventory opportunities across Market venues and platformsOwn and drive advertising and promotions revenue targetsBusiness DevelopmentProactively identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across studios, agencies, film commissions, and industry stakeholdersLead upselling and cross-selling initiatives across Market assets, including MTCC and TIFF LightboxMaintain and actively manage a robust sales pipeline, forecasting revenue performance and mitigating risksSupport exhibition sales through prospect research, outreach, proposal development, and pitchingClient & Partnership ManagementServe as the primary relationship lead for key advertising partners and sponsorsBuild and maintain long-term strategic partnerships to drive repeat business and revenue growthLead contract negotiations, ensuring alignment on deliverables, timelines, and commercial termsProvide high-touch client service, ensuring partner satisfaction and successful campaign outcomesOperations & Campaign DeliveryOversee campaign timelines, deliverables, and execution across all advertising and promotional activationsEnsure accuracy and consistency across proposals, contracts, and partner communicationsCollaborate with production and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery on-siteManage invoicing, payment tracking, and financial reconciliation for assigned accountsCross-Functional LeadershipWork closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, programming, production, and operations) to align on strategy and executionAct as a key liaison between commercial partners and internal stakeholdersProvide guidance and mentorship to coordinators or junior team members (if applicable)Reporting & InsightsTrack and analyze revenue performance, campaign effectiveness, and client ROIPrepare post-event reports with actionable insights, client feedback, and recommendations for future growthContribute to the overall Market commercial strategy through data-driven insightsOn-site ExecutionLead on-site execution of advertising and promotional activations during the Festival MarketEnsure operational readiness across venues in collaboration with production teamsAct as an escalation point for client issues,



ensuring timely resolution and partner satisfactionJob Grade & SalaryJob Grade: 3$31 per hourMay - September 27th, 2026Work LocationOffice Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5Weekly In-Office RequirementsMinimum 2 days (November to April)Minimum 3 days (May to October)QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Film Studies, Event Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)4–7 years of experience in sales, account management, media sales, film sales, or event-based revenue rolesProven track record of achieving revenue targets in a rapid-paced, client-driven environmentExperience working in film markets, festivals, entertainment sales, or similar B2B environments is strongly preferredExperience managing scheduling, inventory, or high-volume booking systems is an assetStrong sales and negotiation skills with the ability to close high-value dealsDeep understanding of client strategy, audience behaviour, and market dynamicsStrong organizational and scheduling skills with attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive, high-pressure environmentExcellent communication and relationship management skills with senior industry stakeholdersStrong problem-solving skills and ability to make real-time decisions confidentlyProficiency with CRM systems and scheduling or booking platformsStrong Excel/data analysis skills for tracking revenue, forecasting, and performance analysisExperience with screening, media delivery, or content management systems is an assetOnsite presence required during event executionAbility to respond quickly and effectively in live operational environmentsEEO StatementTIFF may use artificial intelligence to screen, assess or select applicants for this position.TIFF is committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible environment where employees feel valued and respected, and where every employee has the opportunity to realize their potential.
