LocationCalgary, AB or Toronto, ONVacancy StatusNew roleSalary Range$120 - 145K/yrThe OpportunityThe Analyst, Investment Fund Accounting helps keep Mawer’s funds running smoothly behind the scenes by coordinating financial reporting, regulatory filings, and key fund operations. Reporting to the Manager, Fund Accounting, this role works closely with internal teams, external providers, and auditors to ensure fund information is accurate, deadlines are met, and regulatory requirements are handled well. The role also oversees important areas such as expenses, distributions, tax, and service provider relationships. This position blends strong technical fund knowledge with cross‑functional coordination and a focus on continuous improvement.Role ResponsibilitiesKey contributor in the production process for all fund financial statement information and financial data for regulatory filings, including fund financial statements and Management Report of Fund Performance for Mawer mutual funds and pooled funds.Key contributor in reviewing the annual and interim financial statements for all Mawer mutual funds, pooled funds, collective investment trusts and US LLC Funds within tight deadlines.Liaise with external auditors to ensure audit plans for Mawer funds are coordinated with the fund administrator and transfer agent.Maintain understanding and oversight of fund distributions, tax provisions, tax returns, and related tax working papers prepared by the fund administrator.Develop and maintain fund expense budgets, monitor actual versus budgeted expenses, review monthly management fees,
manage any fund subsidies, and prepare annual expense reports for the Independent Review Committee.Maintain understanding and oversight of GST/HST processes for the funds, including review of quarterly payments and annual returns.Primary point of contact for day‑to‑day fund accounting, administration, transfer agency and trust accounting services provided by external providers; ensure service providers adhere to established service levels, policies and internal control standards.Participate in ad‑hoc projects and fund events (e.G., CRM3 – Total Cost Reporting, fund mergers and restructurings, fund and series launch) as requirements arise.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including marketing, product development, and client‑facing teams to ensure alignment of client management strategies with organisational goals.Drive continuous improvements in processes and operational excellence.Desired QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; Commerce or Business Administration preferred.CPA designation with a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience in fund accounting, reporting,
