A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff identical or similar positions with various language requirements at Transport Canada.Positions to be filled3Important messagesSTREAM 1 - CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY INSPECTOR, COMMERCIAL FLIGHT STANDARDSSTREAM 2 - AIR NAVIGATION STANDARDS INSPECTORSTREAM 3 - CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY INSPECTOR, PILOT TRAINING AND LICENSINGConditions of employmentSecret security clearance – The hiring department is responsible for the security clearance process.Must hold a valid Passport for international travel.Must hold a valid Provincial/Territorial driver's license.Must possess and maintain qualified aviation currency.Must hold a Canadian Airline Transport Pilot Licence that meets all applicable currency requirements to exercise the privileges of the licence or a Canadian Commercial Pilot Licence – Helicopter Category with a Group IV Instrument Rating that meets all applicable currency requirements to exercise the privileges of the licence, as applicable.Stream 1 & 2 – Must possess and maintain as required:One or more Aircraft Type RatingCategory 1 Civil Aviation Medical CertificateOperational RequirementsWilling and able to work overtime on short notice.Willing and able to respond to work situations after hours and on weekends at short notice.Willing and able to travel within Canada and/or abroad on a regular basis.Willing and able to maintain professional aviation currency.Willing and able to maintain a current professional aviation cognitive credential.EducationSecondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.Occupational CertificationCanadian Airline Transport Pilot License – Aeroplane Category with a valid Group I Instrument Rating AND possession of a valid Restricted Radio‑Telephone Operator Certificate (endorsed Aeronautical).Canadian Commercial Pilot License – Helicopter Category with a valid Group IV Instrument Rating AND possession of a valid Restricted Radio‑Telephone Operator Certificate (endorsed Aeronautical).Experience (All Streams)Extensive experience in civil aviation activities.Experience in working with risk management concepts and principles.Experience dealing with complex operational situations (requiring in‑depth analysis and collaboration).Stream 1 ExperienceTotal of 3,000 hours of flight time, including 1,500 hours as pilot‑in‑command, 500 hours in either multiple engine aeroplanes OR Transport Category helicopters.Experience on advanced technology aircraft.Experience working in a Safety Management System (SMS) environment.Stream 2 ExperienceTotal of 2,500 hours flight time, including 1,000 hours as pilot‑in‑command.Extensive experience (at least ten years) in civil aviation activities.Experience with operations involving multi‑engine aircraft.Experience in conducting training lessons or information briefings.Stream 3 ExperienceTotal of 1,500 hours of flight time, including 1,000 hours as pilot‑in‑command.Extensive experience (at least five years) in civil aviation activities.Experience in conducting training lessons or information briefings.KnowledgeCanadian Civil Aviation legislation such as the Aeronautics Act,
