Work and play in one of the world’s premier cities while being part of a mountain community known for its supportive culture and great people.Department: Mountain OperationsReports to: Operations ManagerSUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESThe Carpenter is a skilled, hands‑on position responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of all buildings, structures, and facilities at Mt Seymour. This role plays a key part in maintaining safe, functional, and high‑quality infrastructure across the resort, while supporting a variety of operational needs in a dynamic mountain environment.RESPONSIBILITIESPerform all aspects of carpentry work including framing, finishing, repairs, and general constructionMaintain and repair base area buildings, structures, and facilities to a high standardWork with the Building Maintenance Supervisor to plan and complete preventative maintenance projectsAssist with small‑scale renovations and improvement projects across the resortCoordinate and support maintenance work in areas such as plumbing, painting, and general building upkeep as requiredEnsure all work is completed in compliance with applicable building codes and WorkSafeBC regulationsMaintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and maintenance schedulesKeep workspaces clean, organized, and protected,



with a strong attention to detail and qualityWork collaboratively with other departments to support overall mountain operationsAdhere to all health and safety policies and proceduresOther related duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCECarpenter certification (Red Seal preferred or equivalent experience)Minimum 2-3 years of carpentry experience, ideally in commercial, industrial, or resort environmentsStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and toolsExperience with building maintenance and repair considered an assetBasic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems is an assetStrong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independentlyEffective communication and teamwork skillsStrong organizational and time management abilitiesAbility to work in all weather conditions and mountainous terrainComfortable working at heights and in physically demanding environmentsWillingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidaysTERMS OF EMPLOYMENTFull‑time, year‑round positionStarting wage: $30–$40/hour (dependent on experience)Family Season’s PassShuttle Bus PassWinter schedule: 5 days out of 7Summer schedule: 4 ten‑hour shifts (mid‑May to October)Mt Seymour is an equal opportunity employer.
