Job OverviewThe Service Manager is a part of the dealership leadership team and will be responsible for running an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records. This position ensures that the daily inventory of technicians’ time is consistently sold to service customers. The role is located at our sales and service dealership in Penticton, BC.Pay RangeThe salary range for this position is between $90,000 - $110,000, plus a bonus chance. Salary is based on experience.ResponsibilitiesForecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.Monitor and control the performance of the department using appropriate reports, tracking systems, and surveys.Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service department.Maintain open communications and good relationships with other department personnel—Parts, Body Shop, Sales, Administration, and Credit—striving for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.Maintain reporting systems required by general management.Review and initial all repair orders before submitting them to the warranty department, monitoring for sales and hours relative to expectations.Maintain high‑quality service repairs and minimize comebacks.
Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.Ensure that all customers are greeted promptly and given fair estimates on costs and time required for repairs and maintenance.Establish and maintain a 24‑hour follow‑up with all customers to confirm satisfaction with the service experience and handle any customer issues promptly.Ensure the safety of all employees.Maintain the company’s service vehicles by ensuring they are in good, safe running order, performing regular maintenance service, and keeping maintenance records.Supervise the Service Advisors and Equipment and Truck Technicians, hiring, training, motivating, and monitoring the performance of all service department staff.Ensure every employee has a thorough understanding of their duties and responsibilities.Monitor service department employees’ daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) essential.Post‑secondary diploma or trades certification in a related field preferred.Heavy‑duty truck/equipment technical knowledge.Three years of related experience and/or training.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports.Strong leadership skills.Excellent customer relations skills.Strong business ethics with a professional approach at all times.Functions well with large volume and fast‑paced work environment.Valid driver’s license.Periodically lift up to 25 kg or 50 lbs.BenefitsCompetitive pay and benefits, mentorship, growth opportunities, and a culture that prioritizes teamwork, safety, and community support.#J-18808-Ljbffr
