This work is strengthened by the support of more than 2,000 dedicated volunteers.As part of the federated St. John Ambulance organisation in Canada, represented from coast to coast, we are proud to contribute to a legacy of more than 900 years of service to humanity.The OpportunitySt. John Ambulance BC & Yukon (SJA BCY) is seeking a dynamic, hands-on leader to oversee operations and drive performance at its Victoria Branch.The Branch Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager, Branch Operations & Facilities is responsible for leading all branch activities and requires a skilled, adaptable leader with a diverse range of capabilities to ensure the branch operates at its full potential.Our branches are primarily focused on delivering first aid training courses; in addition, theyofferfirst aid products and serve as important community hubs for our volunteers. The Branch Manager must maintain agility in managing shifting priorities, moving seamlessly between operational and strategic areas of focus. Key responsibilities include team leadership, customer experience, instructor management, business development, and overall branch administration.As a leader, the Branch Manager will also support broader organisational initiatives to help St. John Ambulance BC & Yukon continuously strengthen its ability to serve customers and communities. They will act as an ambassador for the organisation, building strong relationships with customers, volunteers, and the communities we serve.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning:Develop and execute the branch’s annual Performance PlanContribute to broader strategic initiatives led by Provincial Headquarters (PHQ)
and other departmentsLead planning and scheduling of the annual training calendarAchieve revenue and expense targets aligned with the approved Performance Plan and budgetManage branch expenditures responsibly to optimize use of organisational resourcesCustomer Relationship Management:Develop and maintain solid relationships with corporate clients and studentsProactively engage customers to increase enrollment, retention, and overall revenueCollaborate with the Business Development team to support customer growth and revenue generationAdministration:Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to St. John Ambulance BC & Yukon policies and proceduresOversee adherence to operational and administrative standardsMonitor and report on branch performance, including monthly financial and operational reportingProvide support to other branches as requiredInstructor Engagement:Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with instructorsManage instructor scheduling to support efficient and effective course deliveryFacilities Management:Maintain a high-quality learning environment by overseeing facility upkeep, including maintenance, cleanliness, and repairsLiaise with external partners (e.G., landlords, service providers) to ensure operational needs are metIdentify and recommend facility improvements to PHQVolunteer & Community Engagement:Foster relationships with local Brigade, Cadet, and Therapy Dog programsRepresent SJA BC & Yukon within the community, including events, schools, and local business networksLeadership & Team Management:Coach, mentor, and support team members in developing their skills, experience, and responsibilitiesFoster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environmentQualifications and SkillsEducation & Professional Requirements:Post-secondary education in business, management, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent experience in operations or team leadership)Experience managing a customer-facing facility, small business unit, or team with revenue and performance accountabilityKnowledge of first aid, health and safety, or related training environments is an assetLeadership & Management Skills:Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in a dynamic, customer-facing environmentExperience managing performance, meeting operational and financial goals, and overseeing multiple priorities simultaneouslyAbility to foster a positive, collaborative,
