Role Title and LocationHealth & Safety Advisor – Vancouver, BCRole DescriptionThe Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for mentoring, coaching, and guiding frontline Operations Managers and their teams on the Kal Tire Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) requirements. The role also aids in developing and delivering corporate‑wide safety objectives that align with overarching corporate goals to reduce risk and losses across the organization. This position is based in the Lower Mainland and requires regular travel to multiple locations in BC and Alberta, or a remote setup within commutable distance, with at least 60% travel.ResponsibilitiesMentor, guide, and coach first‑level operations managers and team members on HSMS requirements and responsibilities.Assist managers and team members with implementing HSMS requirements.Visit all locations to measure HSMS implementation, covering operational controls, risk management, training, emergency response, incident reporting, communication, records, inspections, targets, and monitoring.Provide reports and action plans for all site visits to operational leaders and managers.Collaborate with first‑level operations management to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.Provide technical assistance and advice on controlling workplace hazards.Make recommendations on HSMS issues.Assist in assessing work processes to identify hazards, assess risks, and determine appropriate controls.Develop and deliver safety training, including presentations and educational materials.Ensure implementation of incident notification and reporting processes.Guide incident investigations, identifying root causes and preventative actions.Develop incident and hazard alerts.Review injury and incident data to identify trends and recommend improvements.Research relevant legislation to identify gaps or opportunities for improvement.Advise on addressing compliance orders.Participate in regular operational meetings and present topics as requested.Injury & Return to Work Program – liaise with and support the Disability Management Team to align messaging and support injured team members in recovery.Guide and support operations in injury management and explain their role in the return to work program and injury prevention.Play a consultative role in communicating, implementing, and maintaining the injury management process.Job RequirementsMinimum 3 years’ experience in a full‑time safety position.A degree or diploma in occupational health and safety from a post‑secondary institute and/or Canadian Registered Safety Qualified (CRSP) designation.Past or current COR auditor certification is an asset.Experience in automotive, transport, manufacturing, or mining is an asset.Extensive knowledge of provincial safety legislation and competence in interpreting and applying all relevant Acts and Regulations.Intermediate skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Excellent critical thinking, problem‑solving, and research skills.Expert knowledge in evaluating regulatory and safety program compliance.Extensive experience leading incident investigations, performing cause analysis, and preparing formal reports.Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to gain credibility, engage, motivate, and positively influence others.Ability to explain improvement areas and offer solutions collaboratively and respectfully.Special RequirementsRequired to travel within assigned region for at least 60% of the time.What We OfferTarget compensation of $88,270 – $102,640 per year based on experience.Clear career advancement path with wage increases.Extended group health, dental, and vision benefits for eligible full‑time and part‑time employees.Employee Assistance Program.Group RRSP/DPSP matching program.Discount on tires and mechanical services.Positive work culture and work‑life balance.Opportunities for professional development, including training, mentorship, and tuition reimbursement.Kal Tire is committed to fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued, included, and empowered to thrive.#J-18808-Ljbffr
