Job SummaryThe Value-Added Services Engineer provides a mix of technical expertise, program management, and sales development to assigned customers. This position will provide technical expertise to support customers and grow value‑added sales. The Value-Added Services Engineer is responsible for reviewing, estimating, and quoting customer‑specific prints. Additionally, the position will support the overall program and relationships management associated with assigned customers.Key AccountabilitiesUses technical knowledge to determine a purchase order costEnsure that the company is capable of producing to customer print, specification, sub‑contractor requirements met (plating, heat treat, grinding, etc.) and quality requirements are documented.Monitors and analyzes project cost estimates, expenditures, and forecastsAssure machine parts are processed to specification using tools appropriate for the applicationAccurately read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to ensure machined parts meet all customer quality specifications.Assist with identifying measuring instruments or gauges to assure conformance to all quality specificationsAssist and identify tooling and fixturing requirement to process to customer specification as necessaryProcess notes according to customer work order specificationsVerify that product meets specifications per written customer instructions and assist with quality sampling plan criteriaCommunicate with appropriate sales representative regarding changes/clarification to ordersMakes recommendations to improve processes in the manufacturing area.Builds customer relationships to support the sales growth of the programBalance the immediate workload recognizing when help is needed and when to be the team player to dig right in and assist or direct others.Provide feedback regarding machine efficiency and product quality.Understand quality checks for machine operation to insure proper functionComplete job responsibilities in a manner that does not put him/her or other individuals in an unsafe situation.Maintain communication with all parties/departments involved and that pricing is reflected of company goals and objectives.Train and mentor others when requiredAssist in any activities related to lean and/or qualityHandles complex issues and performs work with minimal supervisionQualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent experience plus a minimum 5 years’ engineering or program management experienceAbility to read prints including understanding of GD&TUnderstanding of customer quality requirementsAbility to conduct prototypes, PPAP’s, and FAI submissionsExceptionally good with project management and/or spreadsheets2 years CAD/CAM experienceEngineering backgroundOrganizational and planning ability, managing multiple concurrent projectsUnderstanding of machining processesPreferred RequirementsMetal distribution experiencesWriting of programs and machine knowledge of CAD/CAM processPrevious customer quoting background with large part package in excess of 100 partsJob Compensation$94,770.62 - $142,155.94Benefits OverviewMedical, Dental, Vision InsuranceLife Insurance and DisabilityVoluntary Wellness Programs401(k) or RRSP programs with Company MatchPaid Vacation and HolidaysTuition ReimbursementAnd more!Equal Prospect EmployerWe are an equal‑opportunity employer, including people with disabilities and veterans.
