Job DescriptionCHARACTERISTIC JOB DUTIESEnsures the general upkeep of the facility such as cleaning floors, washrooms, windows, dusting, collects and disposes of garbage, vacuumsChecks, cleans, moves, arranges and dusts furniture as requiredEnsures the general upkeep of external property such as mowing lawns, keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice, cleaning main floor outside windows, picking up litter, sweeping sidewalks, gardening/watering and pruning shrubs, rakingChecks doors and windows to ensure building securityReports safety concerns and repair issues (ie: furniture and fixtures)Restocks washroom suppliesSpot washes accessible walls, strips and waxes floors and shampoos carpetPerforms other duties as assignedThe above responsibilities must be performed in keeping with The Salvation Army’s Mission, Vision and Values, in a professional manner, upholding our code of conduct.Minimum Education Level AttainedThe successful job applicant will have completed Public School.NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.Special Licenses, Diplomas, Certifications Or Requirements**See Precautionary Measures**Minimum Prior Related ExperienceUp to three months of prior related experience, including previous cleaning experience and familiarity with cleaning supplies and procedures.Physical Effort/Dexterity RequiredThe performance of the job requires frequently operating industrial cleaning equipment and tools, mopping/sweeping, bending/twisting/lifting, shoveling snow etc.Concentration RequiredThe performance of the job requires moderate to high attention when using motorized equipment, handling hazardous chemicals, and using non-motorized equipment and general cleaning.Responsibility For Financial ResourcesThe incumbent’s responsibility for Financial Resources: The incumbent is involved in minor financial matters regularly, or on a relief basis, or has responsibility for the wise use of their own resources.
