Own Supplier Quality. Protect System Reliability.TheEngineering Quality Manageris responsible for building, leading, and enforcing a structured, end-to-end quality function across the full project lifecycle — from design and machining through assembly, qualification (FAT/SAT), customer delivery, and field service. This is both a hands‑on and strategic role: you will define the system, set the standards, and personally drive their execution across every department.This role establishes a measurable, repeatable, and accountable quality framework that ensures all systems, components, processes, and products meet defined customer requirements, engineering intent, and applicable compliance standards. TheEngineering Quality Manageris the independent voice of quality at Pack‑Smart and plays a central role in advancing a zero-defect culture, reducing rework, and protecting long-term system reliability.Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 CAD*Requests outside of the salary range is available and determined by interview process*.I. Quality System OwnershipDefine and implement an end-to-end quality strategy spanning engineering, manufacturing, deployment, and field serviceEstablish a single source of truth for quality metrics, inspection standards, and acceptance criteriaChampion a zero-defect mindset and embed quality accountability across every departmentDefine supplier qualification standards and audit ongoing supplier performanceValidate incoming parts and materials against engineering drawings, tolerances, and specificationsReview supplier inspection reports and ensure all incoming materials meet specifications before release to productionIII. Engineering Quality & Design ControlVerify that functional specifications are complete, clear,
and approved prior to design releaseParticipate in design reviews and apply quality gates at each stage of the engineering processMaintain traceability between customer requirements, design outputs, and validation activitiesIV. Inspection, Validation & Process ControlDevelop and maintain inspection protocols across machined components, electrical and electronic systems, additive manufactured parts, mechanical assemblies, and final machine systemsImplement incoming, in‑process, and final inspection gates with clear pass or fail criteriaApply statistical process control (SPC) where applicable and establish repeatable processes with defined tolerances and control limitsDevelop and execute structured Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures with defined acceptance criteriaLead failure analysis and root cause identification across all systems and departmentsImplement structured corrective and preventive action (CAPA) workflowsEnsure all failures are documented, traceable, and resolved with permanent, verified fixesVI. Field & Customer QualityTrack field failures, service data, and customer complaints to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunitiesClose the loop between field performance and design, manufacturing, and supplier improvementsEnsure installed systems meet defined performance and reliability expectations post-deliveryEstablish and enforce documentation standards across all quality activities — if it is not recorded, it did not happenIntroduce preventive quality controls and lifecycle quality gates across projectsStay current with industry innovations, evolving standards, and emerging quality technologies, and apply them where they strengthen Pack‑Smart's systemsEducation & Experience:Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or a related discipline)5+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or engineering leadership rolesDirect experience in machine building, automation systems,
