Position OverviewPeaceHealth is seeking a RN Wound Care Specialist for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $50.89 – $76.33. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.Hiring Bonus may be available!Provides professional nursing direct patient care for patients with wound care needs in compliance with professional practice and unit standards. Provides both education and clinical interventions that promote patient independence and self‑care.Essential FunctionsProvide direct patient wound/skin care. Perform conservative instrumental debridement and chemical cauterization of hypertrophic granulation tissue and closed wound edges. Initiate and monitor compression therapy for patients with venous insufficiency.Assess patients and develop plans of care. Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards. Communicate with the health care team to support case management of patients.Develop, deliver, and evaluate education programs for patients, staff, and community. Serve as a resource to physicians, staff, and community.Ensure own skilled effectiveness through education and professional development.Product recommendation and involvement in committees and projects in area of expertise.Support the pressure ulcer prevention program. Assist in review of the Pressure Ulcer Policy and Procedure, monitor specialty bed utilization.Responsible for outpatient clinic services as they pertain to scheduling, treatment, billing,
and infection control.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation : Bachelor's Degree Required: Nursing or equivalent education and/or experience.Experience : Minimum of 1 year Required: experience in dedicated wound care.CredentialsUpon Hire Basic Life Support.Upon Hire Registered Nurse in state of practice.Within 1-1/2 years Certified Wound Specialist American Board of Wound Management.Within 1-1/2 years Wound Care Certified National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy.Within 1-1/2 years Certified Wound Care Nurse Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification Board.SkillsDemonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment (Required).Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (Required).Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications and other applicable clinical applications (Required).Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (Required).Department / Location Specific NotesIn addition to required certification, may be required to attend a course for training in Hyperbaric Medicine.Working ConditionsLiftingPatient handling no greater than 35 lbs.
