EG1 Engineering Intern / Project Engineer (Regular/full time)Department of Transportation and Infrastructure – Highway Regional Operations, Transportation Operations. Locations: The Pas, Thompson, Dauphin, Steinbach, Brandon (MB).Salary: EG1 $60,768.00 – $79,492.00 per year plus Remoteness Allowance, if applicable. Closing Date: May 21, 2026.Employment Equity. An eligibility list may be created for similar positions and will remain in effect for 12 months.OverviewManitoba Transportation and Infrastructure offers a structured comprehensive Engineering Intern Development Program. Participants gain training and experience in roadway construction, drainage, project management, and engineering/design.



Successful completion of the program and receipt of a professional designation enables promotion to Engineer 2 (EG2).ResponsibilitiesEngineering Interns work under the guidance of a Professional Engineer while in the program to develop the skills necessary to become a Project Engineer.QualificationsEffective written communication skillsEffective verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to work respectfully and productively within teamsExcellent planning, organizing, and follow‑up skillsAbility to make sound decisionsLeadership skillsExperience with design and analysisExperience in infrastructure construction and construction inspectionMust be legally entitled to work in CanadaMust be able to work in an outdoor rough terrain environment and be exposed to notable hazards such as construction equipment, roadway traffic, noise, dust, hand/power tools, insects, vegetation, and sharp objectsMust be enrolled or eligible as a Member in Training with Engineers Geoscientists ManitobaMust possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s LicenceMust have a degree in Civil EngineeringMust be able to travel frequently to work sites within the province by ground and/or air transportationBenefitsWe offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits plan, which includes extended health benefits, a health spending account, dental, vision, long‑term disability, maternity and parental leave, and a pension plan.Additional training and mentorship, comprehensive management training and coaching, and opportunities for advancement within the Department.#J-18808-Ljbffr
