Design Engineer ManagerThe Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers, overseeing the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality design and engineering solutions.ResponsibilitiesTechnical OversightGuide the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems.Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial.Project & Delivery ManagementOversee planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are on time and within scope.Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and prioritize tasks.Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.Leadership & ManagementLead, mentor, and coach a team of engineers, fostering professional growth and career development.Set clear goals and expectations, conducting regular performance reviews and feedback sessions.Promote a team-oriented, inclusive, and high‑performing team culture.Process & QualityDefine and refine engineering processes to improve efficiency and quality.Ensure compliance with industry standards, security protocols,
and regulatory requirements.Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team.Cross‑Functional CollaborationWork closely with business leaders to align engineering initiatives with organizational objectives.Partner with recruitment teams to attract, hire, and onboard top engineering talent.Communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Structural).10+ years of engineering experience, ideally with 2‑3 years in a leadership role.Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng).Ability to balance hands‑on technical contributions with leadership responsibilities.Broad and extensive engineering and administrative experience.Exceptional communication skills across client relations, team project communications, proposals, and reports.CompensationThe expected annual compensation range for this position is $130,000 - $170,000.Additional InformationThe applicant must be at least 18 years old and legally entitled to work in Canada.
