The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager develops, implements, and monitors Power Bus Way’s EH&S; programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, and is responsible for all EH&S; related policies and procedures. Interacting with a variety of departments, the role conducts training in emergency response and hazardous material handling, monitors environmental compliance, and maintains liaison with regulatory agencies. Alerts leadership team with corrective action where EH&S; hazards exist.ResponsibilitiesTakes a proactive approach to direct EH&S; activities including planning, implementing, and managing technical performance to ensure EHS and financial objectives are attained.Directs EH&S; projects including project design and scheduling to meet objectives and develop short and long-term EH&S; objectives; recommends goals to management.Ensure and maintain all necessary permits for environmental and regulatory compliance.Promote compliance with Federal, Provincial, Local and Legrand EHS policies, regulations and standards (Fire, OHSA, EPA).Ensure that appropriate corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist.Direct activities related to EH&S; programs and ensure company compliance with applicable regulations; review safety requirements.Develop appropriate electronic and hard copy reports and records; may develop current or revise existing electronic or hard copy systems and make internal and external presentations.Collaborate with senior and executive management to develop and implement current and annual technical, schedule, quality, and financial objectives for the EH&S; program(s) to ensure strategic business objectives are met; participate in development of annual and long-term objectives.Represent the organization as a primary EH&S; spokesperson with line management, program managers, technical staff,



and outside representatives.Implement components of Health and Safety programs: Policies and procedures, Hazard Communication Program (GHS), Hazard Assessments, Container Labeling, MSDS, Confined Space, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Lock-out/Tag-out, Blood borne Pathogens, Emergency Preparedness and Ergonomics Surveys and Screening; facilitate the local Safety Team and manage corrective actions.Manage Safety Committee activities, agenda preparation, reports, follow-ups, and incentive programs.Coordinate other EHS programs in areas including: CPR/First Aid/Fire Brigade Training, loss prevention services, industrial hygiene studies, safety communications, routine safety walks.Lead EHS initiatives within the facility, including sustainability efforts and energy conservation projects by leading or supporting multi-skilled teams to identify and implement energy-efficient technologies.Advise and assist managers on EHS matters; serve as a technical resource for the location.Compile, analyze, maintain, and interpret safety data related to exposure factors, occupational illnesses, accidents, first aid incidents, and near-miss records; conduct root cause analysis and evaluate injury case studies.Support onboarding and orientation safety training.Provide support for workers’ compensation claims including intake, investigation, reporting, and return-to-work efforts.Maintain confidentiality on issues related to the position; adapt to perform under stress when confronted with emergent or dangerous situations.Lead, direct, and develop EH&S; team.Ensure Power Bus Way facilities comply with provincial and federal EHS laws and OHSA regulations.Oversee development and maintenance of a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) program, Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), Emergency Action Plan,



and Risk Management Program.Oversee maintenance of safety records, including SDS database and OHSA 300 log; monitor trends related to work-related injuries.Coordinate monthly safety meetings, reporting safety metrics, and conducting departmental safety audits.Additional duties as required.QualificationsBachelor of Science Degree in Safety Sciences required; may also considera Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical) with a focus/minor in Safety Sciences.CSP Certificate is a plus.5 to 7 years of experience in heavily regulated industries (e.G., metal fabrication, automotive, chemical).Ability to lead and supervise a team of EHS professionals; supervisory experience preferred.Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Continuous Improvement (CI) certification preferred.Strong prioritization, time management, and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.Proven track record of fostering strong employee morale and leadership.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority.Proficiency in delivering and presenting safety topics to large audiences.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Thorough knowledge of EH&S; program development and administration, including training program development.Proficient in performing EH&S; assessments to identify hazards and determine controls.Strong leadership capabilities, including organizing, planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating workloads.Ability to analyze and resolve complex management and technical problems; maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.Salary Range: $120K - $140K.About LegrandLegrand is the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures.
