COOKS (CASUAL ON‑CALL)Coquitlam School District invites applications for on‑call casual cooks. As the third largest school district in the province we are located within a 40‑minute drive from downtown Vancouver. The school district has a population of 34,000 students with approximately 4,400 teaching, administrative, managerial and support staff.Casual cooks report to the Principal (or designate) and provide support to the supervising cook/culinary assistant or chef instructor.Duties IncludeBakingPreparing and serving hot and cold mealsCleaning of kitchen, cafeteria and dishesOperating cash register, kitchen equipment and dishwasherMonitoring and assisting in restocking and maintaining supply levelsBalance, complete and report cash and salesMaintain a positive rapport with students, staff and other facility usersGives direction to students who are assisting/working in the cafeteriaThe successful applicant must have Grade 10 plus Food Safe Level 1,



knowledge of food inventory and ordering and worked in the hospitality industry for a minimum of two years or have completed cooking courses in a recognized institution.For on‑call cook positions, you must be available between the hours of 6:00am and 3:00pm, Monday to Friday, while school is in session.We offer $27.01 per hour, plus 16% in lieu of benefits.
