Job application closing date: May 8, 2026.Program Overview:Our high risk program providing long term residential group care for high risk youth ages 15 to 18. The program supports youth to reduce their involvement in high risk behaviours using harm reduction principles and practices including circle of courage philosophy, strength based and resiliency focused assessments, which promote empowerment and stabilization. With support, youth work on developing skills to manage the high risk activities while working on personal goals.Job Summary:As a Child and Youth Care Worker, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of the child/youth and parent/guardian, providing counselling and teaching basic life, community, and family living skills while ensuring basic needs are met (food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, safety). The Child and Youth Care Worker creates a safe, warm and positive environment where children/youth feel welcomed and loved. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:Supervising and supporting children and youth in a residential settingCollaborating with and Developing/overseeing service plans for children, youth, and parents/guardians.Assisting children and youth in overcoming barriers, and supporting them to develop positive and healthy relationships with their families and communitiesAssisting children and youth in attending appointments, attending skilled meetings and supporting them in successfully participating in their educational placements and/or day programsSupporting children and youth through life skills pre-teaching and in-the-moment learning,



with a hands-on approachSupporting youth to access community resources and natural supportsManaging case files and documentation for youthSubmitting required program documentation within established time-framesNavigating electronic databases and inputting electronic documentation as requiredPerforming basic housekeeping duties (cleaning, organizing, laundry meal preparation, gardening etc.)Other duties as requiredWhat This Job Requires:A Diploma/Degree in Human Services (or equivalent)A minimum of two (2) years of experience counselling families, children/youth with behavioral and developmental disabilities is required.Experience with children and family programming, youth in care, residential care, and case management is a requirement of this position.Certification or training in Aboriginal Awareness, Abuse Awareness, Standard First Aid, Medication Administration, and Violence/Crisis Intervention is a definite asset.The ideal candidate will have an organized and compassionate approach to the work, strong teamwork skills and a commitment to developing positive supporting relationships,Other qualifications include:Proven ability to provide effective communication, collaboration, crisis intervention, and conflict management with clientsExperience with or willingness to be trained on physical holds on the youth that we serve.Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI) must be completed upon hireDemonstrated assessment, problem solving, and critical thinking skillsKnowledge of community resources is an assetIntermediate competency with Microsoft Office and other Agency computer applicationsDemonstrated ability to act with professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacyProven case documentation and effective information reporting practicesPolice Information Check including vulnerable sector search, and Intervention Record Check current within six (6)
