Education Level: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied ScienceBase Location: OshawaShift: DaysTravel: 10%Deadline to Apply: May 19, 2026Salary Range: $1,704.68 - $2,658.86 Per WeekJOB OVERVIEWOntario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results‑driven professional to join our team in the role of Technical Engineer (SMR Services).Reporting to the Manager Engineering, this position is responsible for supporting OPG’s New Nuclear Deployment engineering organization in various roles and capacities to advance new nuclear deployment projects, including Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology, across Canada and abroad.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESPrepare scopes of work, calculations, design bills of material and other design documentation related to the development, design, and construction of a nuclear power plant; Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to specify design requirements; Provide technical,strategic, business and commercial advice, guidance and support to management; Leverage commercial capabilities and knowledge in the sustainable energy industry to provide strategic direction to OPG leadership; Author and maintain written documented processes and procedures related to the development, design and construction of a nuclear power plant; Gather input from stakeholder departments and agencies to ensure project requirements are captured and detailed in the project documents; Engage in correspondence with various regulatory bodies, including the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC); Provide activesupport to field issues and facilitate a positive outcome with Engineer‑Procure‑Construct (EPC) vendor partners; Understand impactson cost and schedule, and provide support to minimize impacts driving projects.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Science (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Nuclear, Engineering Physics, Chemical,



Environmental Engineering/Science); Minimum of 2 yearsof experience with design, construction, commissioning, licensing or operations of capital projects; Experience in the role of Owner’s engineer or Project Engineer for large construction projects, or experience as an EPC vendor contractor; Knowledge or experience with nuclear management systems, site evaluation, nuclear safety hazard assessment, and correspondence with regulatory bodies such as the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC); Knowledge or experience with grid electrical systems or advanced nuclear reactor technologies (preferred); Experience andability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements; Ability to work ina fast‑paced, challenging work environment; demonstrates initiativeand self‑motivation with a proven ability to deliver results; Solid writtenand verbal communication skills, and ability to solve problems and think critically; Candidate mustbe afully licensed engineer in the province of Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of Ontario.The successful candidate will exhibit uncompromising integrity and commitment to upholding corporate values and the OPG Code of Business Conduct.OPG is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and accessible environment.
