Case Manager – Victoria OfficeBCFMA seeks a dedicated professional to provide client‑centered case management services and help individuals navigate child and spousal maintenance processes while supporting strong community connections.We are committed to promoting equity, anti‑racism, multiculturalism, and inclusive community engagement. Our work addresses social and health issues such as mental health, poverty, and personal safety.ResponsibilitiesConduct client case management reviews to determine appropriate action for well‑informed decisions.Assess various client circumstances by analyzing multiple factors to resolve appropriate case management decisions.Proactively monitor cases to ensure service standards are maintained and take appropriate action to mitigate problems throughout the life cycle of the file.Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, exercise discretion, and negotiate with clients.Communicate effectively and consistently, both verbally and in writing, with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality to keep clients informed about their file.Advocate and apply the Agency’s client‑centric approach toward service excellence.Communicate effectively with internal and external parties in the management of cases.Manage payments efficiently and within the timeframes of the Agency’s policy.Document and maintain accurate information in the Agency database.Ensure compliance with all privacy and security policies.Participate in team meetings, committees, or project teams to support the Agency’s mandate and service plan.Provide operational insights to colleagues by answering questions, resolving problems,



and fostering respectful working relationships.Other duties as assigned.Job RequirementsEducationTwo‑year college diploma or equivalent post‑secondary education credits. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.ExperienceMinimum three years of experience delivering a high standard of client service in a high volume, fast‑paced, rapidly changing workplace.Three years or more of experience working with computer applications, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.Preferred social services and/or justice sector experience.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProvide services to clients from diverse backgrounds, including cultural, mental health, disability, substance use, and crisis situations.Identify and assess changes or events in client life circumstances and apply policies, regulations, guidelines, and community resources to determine an appropriate course of action.Maintain resilience, empathy, and use de‑escalation techniques when interacting with clients.Build a positive culture and strong relationships.Communicate respectfully with compassion, tact, and diplomacy.Research and enquiry skills, including analyzing ramifications of options and responses.Exceptional customer service and telephone skills, remaining calm in contentious situations.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).Additional InformationA Criminal Record Check is required.The starting salary for this position is $58,337 per year and is covered by the BCGEU/BCFMA collective agreement.
