Step into a meaningful role as a Community-Based Diversion Worker at Our Place Peel, where you'll support homeless and at-risk youth in finding stable housing solutions. Your work will make a real difference in their lives.
In this role, you'll engage with youth to assess their needs and guide them towards safe living arrangements outside emergency shelters. Utilizing a solution-focused support model, you will build robust relationships with community partners to assist youth in achieving independence. This full-time opportunity involves a commitment to flexibility with day/evening rotating shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate youth needs for safe housing alternatives • Offer guidance and support to prevent homelessness • Collaborate with community organizations to enhance resources • Assist in skills group facilitation for emotional development • Maintain documentation and prepare funding reports
Requirements: • University degree in a social services field • Over 3 years of experience with youth support • Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices • Access to a vehicle and valid insurance required • CPR/First Aid and additional relevant certifications
