This position carries full-time teaching release. Under the direction of the Dean, or designate, the successful candidate will be responsible for educational leadership within the Trades & Apprenticeships program and will be located on the Fort St. John campus.TheChairwill have responsibility for maintaining excellence in the department and for taking appropriate, timely action to foster the highest possible standards of teaching, scholarship, service, and student advising. TheChairalso provides focus and direction to ensure the quality of programs, with responsibilities for leading the department in daily operational activities including but not limited to curriculum, finance, planning, assessment, regulatory oversight,



and student affairs. TheChaircoordinates and supports the personal and skilled talents of the department members and assists them in functioning as an effective team.This position requires a consistent presence on campus during the instructional period, typically from September until the end of June.QualificationsMust be a current, regular employee of Northern Lights College.Hold a Red Seal Trades certification.Minimum of five (5) years instructional experience at the post-secondary level in relevant programs.Demonstrable commitment to educational leadership.Demonstrable excellence in written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrable excellence in team-building and consultative leadership.Completion of Provincial Instructors Diploma Program (PIDP), or equivalent.
