The finance function is lean, hands-on, and built for scale—meaning your work will directly influence how cleanly this organization closes, consolidates, and reports as it grows.This is a new, high-trust accounting role focused on multi-jurisdiction, multi-entity accounting and intercompany coordination across Canada, the UK, and the US. You’ll act as an advisory-style partner to CFO-level stakeholders—someone who can both execute and explain the “why” behind the numbers. There are no perfectly pre-built processes waiting for you here; you’ll help shapehow intercompany flows are tracked, how entities are coordinated, and how reporting stays accurate across different standards. If you enjoy solving messy accounting structures and turning them into a clean, repeatable system, you’ll have real impact in this seat.ResponsibilitiesOwn day-to-day accounting support across a multinational biotech structure (Canada with US and UK entities), ensuring accuracy across all booksBuild and maintain reliable intercompany transaction tracking (billing, recharges, loans, eliminations) so balances tie out cleanly each periodSupport consolidation-ready accounting and coordination across entities, helping create a clear path to consolidated reportingPartner closely with CFO-level stakeholders to deliver clean financial insights, explanations,
and progress updates (not just spreadsheets)Ensure accounting practices align across differing regulatory and reporting environments, flagging risks early and proposing practical fixesImprove or establish core close processes (checklists, timelines, reconciliations) in an environment with evolving systems and structureCoordinate effectively with distributed teams across regions, communicating status, blockers, and next steps with consistencyMaintain high-quality documentation of entity structures, intercompany assumptions, and accounting decisions to reduce future ambiguityMust-HaveHands-on experience supporting multinational, multi-entity accounting with subsidiaries under a parent companyProven multi-jurisdiction accounting experience in both UK and Canada environmentsStrong intercompany accounting experience, including eliminations/reconciliations and consolidation supportConfident working knowledge of IFRS and the ability to apply it in real-world scenariosExperience working alongside CFOs or finance leadership in a support/advisory capacityStrong remote communication skills and the ability to collaborate across regions with regular progress updatesAbility to work Monday–Friday with daily overlap with an Eastern Time (EST) team (hours are flexible, overlap is required)Nice-to-HaveExperience supporting US entities and/or bridging between US GAAP and IFRS reporting needsCPA certification (or equivalent) and experience in controlled/regulated industriesBiotech or life sciences exposure (especially in multi-entity, venture-backed environments)QuickBooks experience (or similar SMB accounting tools) plus solid Excel/Sheets capabilityExperience setting up intercompany frameworks, charts of accounts, or close infrastructure from scratchBenefitsAccess to a $200k+ perk marketplace with instant discounts on 150+ servicesAccess up to 50% of approved earnings before payday (no credit checks or fees)#J-18808-Ljbffr
