About the Company

We’re looking for an experienced SEO Copywriter / Strategist to support a recruitment marketing and communications agency on a career website optimization project. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who combines strong SEO strategy and keyword research skills with hands-on copywriting expertise.

About the Role

You’ll be working on a client’s career and recruitment website that is currently underperforming in organic search. Because the site is built within Phenom, there are limitations around traditional SEO plug-ins and technical optimization, making on-page content, structure and keyword strategy especially significant.

You’ll take ownership of reviewing the existing site, identifying opportunities to improve search performance, developing the SEO/content strategy, and implementing recommendations through optimized and expanded copy.

Responsibilities

- Audit and review approximately 9 existing career website pages from an SEO and content perspective
- Conduct keyword research and identify opportunities to improve organic rankings and relevant traffic
- Develop an actionable on-page SEO and content strategy
- Optimize existing website copy, including headings, keyword usage, content structure and messaging
- Recommend opportunities to restructure or expand pages to improve search visibility
- Write additional content for approximately 3 under-developed pages
- Balance SEO best practices with engaging, audience-focused recruitment and employer-brand messaging
- Work collaboratively with the agency’s Creative Director and creative team to roll out recommendations

Qualifications





- Proven experience as an SEO Copywriter, SEO Content Strategist or Content Strategist
- Strong hands-on experience with keyword research and on-page SEO
- Excellent copywriting, editing and content optimization skills
- Experience auditing websites and translating findings into a clear SEO/content strategy
- Ability to optimize websites where technical SEO capabilities are limited
- Experience with career sites, recruitment marketing, employer branding or recruitment advertising is a strong asset
- Experience working with Phenom or similar career-site platforms is an asset
- Comfortable working independently and owning a project from analysis and strategy through execution

Required Skills

This person is more than an SEO writer—we’re looking for someone who can diagnose why content isn’t performing, determine what needs to change, and then write the content to make it happen. A combination of strategic SEO thinking, strong writing skills and experience with recruitment-focused digital content would be ideal.
