This role works closely with compensation, finance, benefits administration, payroll, health services, wellness and our external partners. The role reports directly to the Director, People & Culture, Benefits & Pensions.This group of trusted advisors works diligently to seek to understand what is important to TELUS Team Members as well as the business by practicing thought leadership and a high level of collaboration.Here’s howAct as a subject matter expert for TELUS benefits programsParticipate in the development and ongoing evolution of our group benefits strategy, including plan design and strategic communication of benefits for TELUS Team MembersBenchmark against industry peers and market trends, developing recommendations to senior leadership to ensure our offerings remain competitive and aligned with organizational goalsLeverage benefits utilization data, claims experience,



and benchmarking reports to drive evidence-based decisions and continuous improvement of benefit programsMonitor and interpret federal and provincial legislative changes affecting group benefits and insuranceAnalyze data to look for trends and patterns to assist with the development and analysis of the corporate benefits budgetDevelop and conduct quarterly analysis of corporate benefits budgetDevelop, communicate, and maintain the annual flexible benefits enrollment processManage the annual group insurance renewal process and the financial management of the benefit planServe as a senior point of contact for complex team member inquiries and escalations related to benefits, providing empathetic, accurate, and timely resolution while identifying systemic issues for process improvementPartner with vendors to monitor services and plan utilization reviewsManage the process of harmonization during mergers and acquisitionsQualificationsYou're the missing piece of the puzzleProgressive experience in group benefits, total rewards, or a related P&C;/HR function within a large, complex organization (10,000+ employees preferred)Deep knowledge of Canadian group benefits legislation, including provincial health insurance acts, Employment Insurance, and related federal/provincial regulationsDemonstrated experience in benefits plan design, benchmarking, and strategy developmentStrong financial acumen with experience managing and forecasting large benefits budgetsExceptional communication and presentation skills – you can translate complex benefits concepts into clear, accessible language for all audiencesExperience designing and facilitating webinars, town halls, or educational sessions for large employee populationsProven ability to manage vendor relationships and lead procurement or renewal processesStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendationsA collaborative,



team‑first mindset with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels of the organizationProfessional designation such as CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) is considered an assetExperience in the telecommunications, technology, or similarly complex industry is an assetBilingualism (English/French) is considered an assetExcellent organizational skills and able to juggle priorities and tight deadlinesDedicated team player who demonstrates initiative and independence, is adaptable to changing prioritiesHighly proficient with MS Office Suite – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Google SuiteAdvanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.), internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.), and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.Compensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $90,000-$140,000Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15%Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
