Our purpose is to bring greater retirement peace of mind to the university sector by investing with integrity and serving members with care.RoleAs Manager, Investment Performance and Reporting, you will support and analyze performance management, analytics, and reporting functions, delivering value‑added integrated reporting and insights on the Total Fund and Investment department activities. You will produce, develop, and present in‑depth analyses of investment returns and related issues, collaborating closely with the Investment Finance team to provide enhanced management and monitoring of investment performance.ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and articulate a consistent and accurate ‘story’ of performance attribution, peer performance, leverage, and liquidity.Assist the Director of Investment Performance and Reporting to maintain and establish reporting controls that utilize analytical reviews, reasonability checks, and established processes.Follow procedures and controls to ensure performance and reporting data are accurate, complete, and timely.Perform and document regular data reconciliation to ensure upstream and downstream data is accurate, complete, and timely.Investigate discrepancies with investment operations and/or the custodian and/or the performance provider.Develop tests and automate control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of information used to calculate performance benchmark and attribution results.Design, automate,
and streamline processes within Investment Performance and Reporting.Prepare timely performance measurement reports for scheduled and ad‑hoc reporting.Perform appropriate reviews to ensure the data used is accurate and reconcile/implement controls to ensure data integrity.Track and follow up with all external managers to ensure they provide regular performance reports.File and store performance reports in a central location.Assist in onboarding new external managers, including opening new accounts at the custodian.Establish and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders, including collaboration among internal groups (IT, Finance, and Operations) to obtain and understand details of reporting and information requirements and deliver information and recommendations.Contribute to UPP’s reputation as a respectful employer, partner, and participant in the financial sector.Build reports that facilitate continuous oversight on a total portfolio basis.Ensure data reconciliations and procedures are followed and any issues are resolved timely and escalated when appropriate.Investigate discrepancies with investment operations and/or the custodian, and proactively enhance procedures and controls.Utilize technology and systems to design reports that can be assembled and distributed efficiently.Review materials prepared by fund administrator(s), including reports, financial statements, G/L.Coordinate data between the custodian’s analytical systems and reporting service partners.Facilitate ad‑hoc reporting requests.Interact with external professionals and service providers,
including auditors and consultants that require customized investment information.Support special projects and initiatives and contribute to UPP‑wide functional and enterprise projects as assigned.Qualifications and ExperienceUndergraduate degree in business, finance, or a related field (required).Graduate degree (e.G., MBA, MFin) and/or a skilled designation (e.G., CFA, CIPM) (preferred).5+ years of investment performance measurement experience.AttributesExcellent analytical and communication skills.High degree of self‑motivation and professionalism.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a time‑sensitive manner while maintaining quality of work.Excellent relationship‑building and conflict‑resolution skills.Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.CompensationAnnualized base salary in the range of$85,600 to $135,600.
