Additionally, colleagues can contribute directly to a TFSAWe offer an agile workplace for this positionAn option of a compressed work schedule supports work/life interestsCompetitive annual vacation time off and additional time off during our holiday closureA comprehensive colleague recognition program and bonus programTraining and support for professional development and qualified membership duesResponsibilitiesReport directly to the Waterfront Engineering Marine Systems – Electrical Team Lead and contribute to the successful delivery of technical deliverablesDraft and review deviations, waivers and repair specifications for submarine electrical equipment and maintenance activities under the direct supervision of a Professional EngineerAssess, document, and communicate risks associated with submarine engineering systems to both internal and external stakeholdersBe responsive to Project Managers for dynamic program delivery requirements in a shipyard waterfront environmentGain knowledge of Defence Standards, Military Specifications and other relevant guiding principles in the design and maintenance of submarine specific systemsIdentify risks, impacts, mitigations,
and opportunitiesConduct other duties as necessary or as reasonably assigned from time to timeQualificationsGraduated from a recognized post-secondary institution with a degree in Electrical EngineeringRegistration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in British ColumbiaMinimum 2 years previous relevant engineering or technologist experience, an assetMarine, offshore oil and gas drilling or naval vessel experience, an assetExperience with tasks requiring attention to detail and demonstrated pragmatic problem-solving skillsStrong computer skills; including MS Office suiteStrong verbal and written communication skills, including writing formal reports, and making presentationsExperience working in a shipyard and knowledge of shipyard safe work practices is an assetYou are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR ClearanceBabcock is committed to promoting a workforce without boundaries.
