Position DescriptionLegrand has an exciting opportunity for aWelder/Fitterto join theElectrical Wiring Systems Power Bus Way TeaminMississauga, ON. The Welder/Fitter will be responsible for welding and fitting metal components per drawings to create finished structures or products.What Will You Do?Interpret drawings to select pre-cut metal plate and sheet parts.Operate a saw and cut bars, tubes, etc. to specific lengths and angles per drawings.Take prepared metal components and fit together per drawings.Set up and operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using various welding techniques, to complete the project.Operate manual MIG & TIG welding machines.Finish welds (e.G., grinding, cleaning).Inspect product to ensure it is structurally sound and adheres to quality standards.Communicate any machine or production problem that may affect the desired output to the Production Manager.Willing to take part in additional shop activities such as component fabrication and assembly.Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work workplace.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Prior work experience in the trade.Completion of CWB Welder Qualification Tests for 47.1 and or 47.2 (*note: can be completed within the first 6 months of employment).Experience with sheet metal welding & fabrication.Experience with structural steel welding and fabrication.Able to read and interpret blueprints and reference manuals.Strong mathematical skills.Detail-oriented, good communication and mechanically inclined.Must have own welding helmet and safety shoes.Understands and follows safety regulations.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Salary Range:$25.00-$30.00/HourlyAbout LegrandLegrand is the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures.
