The role also requires analysis of operating data, identifying potential problems, and initiating corrective action.Key ResponsibilitiesBe a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and proceduresImplement control system configurations, modifications, and strategies to meet operations' requirementsEvaluate plant and or chemical processes and make recommendations for improvement to existing process or control systems hardware and or softwareMonitor the process control computer systems; monitor system toensure optimum performance; ensure integrity of thedatabase and information; perform or directothers in database backups and approve access to systemsDesign or make modifications to process control or plant processes to improve and ensure product quality, worker safety and health, environmental protection, and plant productionCoordinate with operations, technical personnel, process engineers and engineering contractors/suppliers, to ensure compliance with standards, guidelines, and procedures relative to control systems equipment and programmingCreate,



develop and implement creative and original advanced process control strategies and algorithmsAs a project leader ensure plant project control system engineering requirements are met and quality solutions are deliveredCoordinate with Trades, suppliers and contractors in the installation, commissioning and expansion of control systems; responsible for budget and schedule on minor projectsTrain and direct users of the various control systems, including operators, process engineers, management and trades personnel to ensure the integrity TCML standards are metDirect with the updating of process control loop programming information; manage all plant loops including the complete aspects of tuning, application of advanced control techniques and configuration and documentationDirect plant support staff and trades personnel in the maintenance and support of plant control systems; develop job procedures for plant operators, engineering and trades personnelDevelop, strategize, standardize and implement standardized computerized and field test methods to optimize plant processes and ensure the validity of process measurements; instruct support personnel in the use of these methodsDevelop and summarize process information using online screens, HMI’s, routine and adhoc reports for plant management, engineers,



operators and technical support personnelQualificationsGraduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a technical diploma or degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Electrical, or similar certificationGreater than 5 years of industrial plant experience in the configuration and maintenance of process control systems or relevant technical or trades workProven ability to apply various process control and troubleshooting techniques to improve process operation or solve operational problems.Configuration experience required in at least one of Foxboro or ABB Distributed Control Systems or Modicon Programable Logic Controllers (utilizing Control Export and Unity Software).
