Location: Powell River/qathet Regional DistrictHours Per Week: As neededSalary Or Wage: $27.92 to $29.60 per hourJob Type: CasualList of RequirementsHigh school completion required.Familiarity with mental health, addiction services, and community resources.Experience in social services, community health, harm reduction, or a related field.Understanding of trauma-informed, harm reduction, and culturally safe practices.Ability to de-escalate conflict in a non-violent manner.Awareness of local “street culture.”Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check clearance.List of DutiesThe Support Worker provides non-clinical support to participants at the iOAT Clinic by assisting with daily routines, offering harm reduction information, and fostering a safe and welcoming environment.The role contributes to participant well-being by following pre-established plans created by the clinical lead to ensure access to services and resources in a respectful, trauma-informed, and culturally safe manner.Experience supporting clients in a harm reduction, community, or clinical settingKnowledge of overdose response, naloxone administration, and emergency protocolsAbility to provide client support during medication administration and basic first aidUnderstanding of community resources (food, shelter, healthcare) and referral processesStrong communication and de-escalation skills to support a safe,
