We currently have an chance for a Truck Driver to join our Winnipeg Shipping team. For this role you would operate either a semi with a straight trailer with a triple axle or a smaller tandem axle truck and a Moffett forklift for site deliveries. Scheduled deliveries are primarily Monday to Friday, typically starting at 6:00am for a minimum 8‑hour shift, with flexibility on overtime as dock times, site drop offs may differ, or business needs require. This role has fulltime hours plus overtime from approximately mid‑March to November with seasonal layoff and part‑time hours over the winter months based on business demand.People Skills: A positive attitude, motivated to achieve progress and excellence, a willingness to help co‑workers achieving team success, working together to solve problems, being punctual, and dedicated to good attendance.Focus on Quality: An eye for detail, taking pride in your workmanship. A high level of commitment and a “can‑do” attitude towards quality.Capacity: Understanding the importance of time management and work ethic towards getting tasks completed to meet necessary requirements with high‑quality standards.ResponsibilitiesWorking with Shipping Consultants and Forklift Operators to review orders and plan efficient delivery routesOperating a truck and Moffett for loading and unloading productFollowing all regulated safe driving practices, DOT regulations, safe work procedures, vehicle inspections/maintenance, cleanliness of equipment and cargo securement practicesRepresenting Barkman on the roads in a safe,



professional manner to other drivers and construction crewsDelivering mostly at residential and retail locations which includes ensuring site is assessed for safety hazards, delivery documentation is processed, and the drop off location of product meets the customer’s expectationsCommunicating and problem solving with on‑site customers, Shipping Consultants and Forklift Operators in a positive, customer focused mannerUsing a smart phone to confirm deliveries and contact customers prior to deliveryEnsuring time management of deliveries and dock times are being met and to communicate to the Shipping team of any interruptions or issues immediately so that customers can be kept up to dateRequired to wear high visibility vests and safety shoes on the yard and all delivery sitesQualificationsA Class 1 driver’s licence with air endorsement (required) with a minimum of 1 year driving experienceThe ability to drive a 13‑speed manual transmission is requiredAbility to drive a variety of different trucks (tandem, semi, etc.)Experience with Moffett’s or off‑loading equipment is an asset; Barkman will provide training to all operatorsFamiliarity and comfort with driving in the City of Winnipeg, both residential and main routesCapable of physical work including working outside in all seasons, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, lifting up to 50lbs, reaching, using both arms/hands to operate equipment, climbing up to Moffett and on trailer deckBenefitsBarkman offers group insurance, a retirement savings plan, product discounts and education subsidies.
