OverviewThe Manager, Marketing + Communications, is responsible for the development and implementation of the department’s digital strategy and executing related marketing objectives through channels including the Alliance’s website, email marketing, media relations, and social media platforms. This position supervises the Marketing + Communications Coordinator and reports directly to the Vice President of Communications + External Relations.ResponsibilitiesGeneral Marketing & CommunicationsDevelop and execute marketing campaigns to advance the Alliance in its core operational areas, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and mission.Collaborate to create cross-channel campaigns with team members and colleagues across Visitor Services, Fundraising, Community Relations, Park Operations, and HR/People and Culture.Help set the strategy and execution of media relations campaigns, identify PR opportunities, pitch stories to a diverse range of media, and manage press events and press releases.Directly manage the Marketing Coordinator, provide guidance and professional development, and supervise Marketing Interns as needed.Direct the collection and analysis of marketing data to determine campaign success and propose data-based recommendations to inform future strategy and goals.Stay up-to-date with digital trends and best practices, and recommend enhancements to the Alliance’s digital outreach and user experience.Email MarketingDevelop email marketing and cross-channel communications strategies with the Communications + External team and internal stakeholders to increase audience size, engagement, retention, and growth.Lead all email campaigns, including newsletters and other periodic campaigns, including content development, setup, testing, distribution, and reporting.Website + Social Media MarketingDevelop and execute strategies for website and social media marketing to increase traffic, engagement, and conversions via SEO, digital advertising, user experience improvements, and third-party integrations.Oversee content development for the website and social media, including content creation and posting via the CMS and third-party apps.Oversee community engagement on social media,



including responding to public and messaging inquiries, in collaboration with the Community and Government Relations Coordinator.Monitor website functionality and user experience, and troubleshoot or escalate issues with external consultants as needed.Use marketing reporting to analyze and measure content strategy impact and optimize website and social media performance.Manage the Google Ad Grants program and support the Marketing Coordinator’s weekly maintenance of this property.Performs other job-related duties and functions as assigned.Education & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or other relevant discipline preferred5-7 years of experience in Marketing and/or CommunicationsMinimum of 2 years of People Management experienceStrong project management skillsStrong attention to detail and communication skills (verbal, written, and oral)CompetenciesPassion for the Alliance Mission & Core Values: A passion for public parks and environmental conservation with commitment to respect, diversity, equity, and inclusion.Ethics & Integrity: Earns trust and respect through integrity, honesty, and professionalism.Job Knowledge: Technical knowledge across digital marketing domains, including Google Analytics, email marketing, social media, web management systems, and media relations.Project Management: Contributes to department priorities and ensures resources, policies, procedures, and measures support objectives.Creative, Critical & Innovative Thinker: Entrepreneurial and creative with the ability to analyze situations and generate new ideas.Staff Management & Coaching: Inspires and develops staff through feedback, instruction, and career development.Planning, Organizing & Problem-Solving: Manages multiple projects, defines tasks, milestones, and optimizes resources to solve problems.Decision-Making: Analyzes information,
