It’s a high-impact, highly visible opportunity to build relationships across teams, influence how data is created and used, and help lay the foundation for AI-ready data in a modern, evolving environment.Who You AreYou’re someone who doesn’t just understand data, you understand people.You’re naturally curious, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and confident asking the kinds of questions that uncover gaps others miss.You can move between business and technical conversations with ease, translating data challenges into practical, scalable solutions.You’re not waiting for direction, you’re creating it.Work TypeLocation: Toronto, ON (Remote)Vacancy Type: This role is a newly created positionWhat You'll DoPartner with business and technical teams to establish and operationalize data governance practicesInfluence how data is defined, captured, and used across multiple lines of businessDrive improvements in data quality, integrity, and consistency through root cause analysis and stakeholder collaborationDefine and maintain data definitions, metadata, and lineage to ensure transparency and trustSupport the rollout and adoption of data governance tools (e.G.,



cataloging, data quality platforms)Help shape AI-ready data practices, ensuring data is structured, complete, and fit for advanced analyticsEmbed governance standards into day-to-day workflows—not just policies on paperContribute to data privacy, compliance, and risk mitigation effortsEstablish visibility into data health through metrics, monitoring, and reportingAct as a key driver in building a culture where data is treated as a strategic assetWhat We're Looking For4+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or similar data-focused roles, with the ability to drive initiatives and influence stakeholdersExperience supporting or implementing data governance frameworks and stewardship modelsStrong understanding of data cataloging, lineage, and data quality principles (tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation are assets)Ability to influence stakeholders across business functions—this role is as much about communication as it is about dataExperience working with contemporary data platforms (e.G., Snowflake, Databricks, or cloud ecosystems like AWS/Azure/GCP)Exposure to data privacy and regulatory standards (GDPR, CCPA,
