The OT Technician supports Operational Technology (OT) delivery and sustainment by completing field‑based execution tasks across the pit, mine, and mill. The role performs field installations and commissioning of OT and communications infrastructure (e.G., cabling, antennas, cameras, and security systems) and assists with ongoing troubleshooting and repairs to maintain system availability. The role will report to the Supervisor, IT/OT and work a rotational schedule at the Cote Gold Mine Site on a 7/7 or 14/14 schedule.Responsibilities:Provide day‑to‑day field support in pit, mine, and mill areas to sustain OT and site communications reliability and availability.Install, test, and troubleshoot pit communications equipment (e.G., radios, wireless links) and associated field infrastructure.Complete structured cabling installations (fiber/copper), including running/pulling cable and performing terminations, to site standards, drawings, and work packages.Perform fiber fusing/splicing and basic fiber testing and troubleshooting to restore/validate connectivity.Install, align, and service antennas,
wireless access points, and related mounting hardware; verify coverage and basic performance.Install and service cameras and security systems (e.G., CCTV, access control components), including mounting, cabling, and basic configuration support under direction of the OT Specialist.Execute assigned OT deployment work (install/replace field network components such as switches, enclosures, patch panels) and support commissioning activities (power‑up, connectivity checks, labeling, point‑to‑point testing); elevate complex issues as required.Maintain accurate field documentation and reporting (labels, photos, redlines/as‑built, close‑out notes, completion status, deficiencies, and parts lists) and support spares/asset care through failure identification and repair/return coordination.Key Skills & Knowledge:Post‑secondary diploma or certificate in Electronics, Instrumentation, Telecommunications, Networking, or a related technical discipline; equivalent training andexperience considered.Training/certification in structured cabling, fiber termination/testing (including fiber fusing/splicing), RF/wireless, CCTV, or low‑voltage security systems is an asset.Experience performing field installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of OT/communications infrastructure in an industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environment.Hands‑on experience with copper/fiber cabling (run/pull/terminate), fiber splicing, and testing/troubleshooting (e.G., certification/OTDR), with strong labeling and documentation practices.Experience installing and supporting wireless/RF systems (antennas, access points, backhaul links)
