Data Center Manager, YYC Datacenter OperationsAmazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Manager to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. The candidate will help ensure overall availability and reliability of our data center operations, meeting or exceeding defined service levels.Key ResponsibilitiesPrioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators.Manage the performance of a diverse team of data center operations professionals across multiple locations.Develop and maintain career paths for employees and update records in internal tools.Recruit and train data center technicians to maintain appropriate staffing levels.Manage day‑to‑day data center operations, including queue management, 24/7 shift scheduling, and hardware logistics.Provide subject‑matter expertise across all aspects of data center operations.Ensure all operational KPIs and metrics are measured, tracked, and consistently met.Inspire and guide continuous improvement in team processes, technology innovation, and automation.Manage large‑scale events including outages and serve as the primary call leader during escalations.Improve workflows and throughput across data center operations.Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices and required SLAs.Maintain the on‑call schedule while coordinating team absences and vacation coverage.Collaborate with cross‑functional partners—including engineering, capacity planning, and facilities teams—to support operational goals.Ensure a high level of quality and consistency in the services delivered,
continuously striving to improve customer experience.QualificationsMore than 2 years of experience as an IT operations manager within technologist teams.In‑depth experience and knowledge of Linux systems administration.Experience in networking and knowledge of best practices in cabling.Experience with IT architectures, troubleshooting, and data center infrastructures.Bilingual in French and English, with strong reading and writing skills in both languages.Ability to work in a 24/7 environment, including on‑call rotations and support outside normal business hours.Experience with system management tools and client‑server environments.Project management experience (2+ years preferred).Data center experience (2+ years preferred).A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and education level.Benefits and CompensationThe base salary range for this position varies by location: CAN, AB, Airdrie – 83,800.00‑108,200.00 CAD annually; CAN, AB, Balzac –83,800.00‑108,200.00 CAD annually; CAN, AB, Calgary – 83,800.00‑108,200.00 CAD annually. Additional compensation may include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
