Located in the beautiful Niagara Region, Lincoln offers a unique environment that encompasses Lake Ontario, the Bruce Trail and Niagara Escarpment and is situated between Hamilton and St. Catharines. Steeped in a rich history and home to one of the fastest growing municipalities, Lincoln is a place to grow, a place to prosper and a place to belong.Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Community Services, the Special Events Assistant (Co‑Op Student) plays a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of Town events throughout the summer season. This position works closely with a cross‑departmental committee of Town staff, contributing to collaborative planning and ensuring the smooth execution of major community events, including but not limited to Canada Day and Fling Off King.This role supports event logistics, volunteer coordination, on‑site operations, and community engagement initiatives, helping to deliver high‑quality, well‑organized experiences for residents and visitors.The successful candidate must possess the following:Enrolled in a post‑secondary program such as Event Management, Recreation & Leisure Services, Hospitality & Tourism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related fieldExperience supporting events, recreation programming, community engagement, or similar activities is considered an assetStrong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in quick‑paced event environmentsExcellent communication skills, demonstrating professionalism, tact, and customer service excellence.Ability to work collaboratively with staff from multiple departments, community groups,
and event stakeholdersAbility to take initiative and work independently while demonstrating sound judgmentProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with event‑planning tools or scheduling software is an assetAbility to work outdoors and participate in physical event setup tasks, including lifting up to 20 lbs (e.G., equipment, supplies, signage)Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support event operationsValid Class G or G2 Driver’s LicencePlanning on returning to school in the Fall of 2026.Please know that we understand you may not meet every requirement listed.
